New festival in Krumlov

We are pleased to announce a brand new festival in South Bohemia - Cirkusové meandry - Circus Meandres, which is a joint project of the International Festival of New Circus and Theatre Letní Letná and the City of Český Krumlov. The first year of this unique festival will introduce the audience to various disciplines of new circus and will welcome the best Czech new circus troupes.

Cirkusové Meandry will offer a varied programme that includes performances for children and the whole family during the day and top productions by leading Czech new circus companies in the evening. In addition, visitors can look forward to an open-air show, which will be free of charge. In the picturesque surroundings of the circus town, there will also be a rich accompanying programme free of charge: circus and art workshops, wooden interactive toys or the traditional carousel.

This type of event is still unique in the South Bohemian region, but its aim is to build a new tradition in Český Krumlov with an international reach, where spectators and artists will be happy to return. The organisers of the festival are bringing a wealth of experience to the project: during its existence, Letní Letná has built a reputation as one of the largest new-circus platforms in Central Europe, and the town of Český Krumlov will also provide solid facilities. In addition, other important and proven institutions are involved in the preparation: the South Bohemian Theatre České Budějovice, the Municipal Theatre Český Krumlov and the DMO Český Krumlov, which guarantee the quality and professional level of the whole event.
